Over de vlinders

Phoebis rurina en Anteos menippe behoren tot de familie Pieridae en zijn herkenbaar aan hun heldere gele en witte kleuren. Ze komen voor in Midden- en Zuid-Amerika en zijn actieve vliegers die grote afstanden afleggen.
Polygrapha cyanea en Callicore cynosura behoren tot de familie Nymphalidae. Beide soorten hebben opvallende, geometrische vleugelpatronen met blauwe, rode en zwarte accenten — een tekening die hen zowel herkenbaar als moeilijk te vangen maakt in hun natuurlijke omgeving.
