Actias luna, ook bekend als de Luna Moth of Maanvlinder, behoort tot de familie van de nachtpauwogen (Saturniidae). De vlinder kenmerkt zich door zijn opvallende lichtgroene kleur en de lange staarten aan de achtervleugels. De spanwijdte kan oplopen tot 11 centimeter. De naam 'Luna' verwijst naar de maanvormige oogvlekken op de vleugels.
Als volwassen vlinder heeft de Actias luna geen functionerende monddelen en kan niet eten. De vlinder leeft ongeveer een week, waarin het enige doel is om zich voort te planten. Alle energie die nodig is voor deze korte levensfase wordt opgeslagen tijdens het rupsstadium. De lange staarten aan de achtervleugels dienen als verdedigingsmechanisme tegen vleermuizen door hun echolocatie-systeem te verstoren.
De kambaba jaspis, ook wel krokodillenjaspis genoemd, kenmerkt zich door zijn donkergroene tot zwarte kleur met cirkelvormige patronen. Deze patronen komen omdat deze steensoort zich vormt met een mix van verscheiden mineralen waaronder kwarts, aegrien en veldspaat.

Actias luna, also known as the Luna Moth, belongs to the giant silk moth family (Saturniidae). The butterfly is characterized by its striking light green color and long tails on the hindwings. The wingspan can reach up to 11 centimeters. The name 'Luna' refers to the moon-shaped eyespots on the wings.
As an adult, the Actias luna has no functional mouthparts and cannot eat. The moth lives for only about one week, during which its sole purpose is to reproduce. All energy needed for this short life phase is stored during the caterpillar stage. The long tails on the hindwings serve as a defense mechanism against bats by disrupting their echolocation system.
The kambaba jasper, also called crocodile jasper, characterized by its dark green to black color with circular patterns. These patterns occur because this type of stone is formed from a mixture of various minerals, including quartz, aegirine, and feldspar.
