De Graphium sarpedon kenmerkt zich door zijn opvallende zwarte vleugels met heldere groene tot blauwe banden die over de vleugels lopen. De Graphium evemon heeft een vergelijkbaar patroon maar met subtiele verschillen in de breedte en intensiteit van de banden. Beide soorten behoren tot de familie van de Papilionidae (pages).
