1 over

A red golf cart has come to a halt on a golf course slowly being reclaimed by vegetation. A Keep Out sign and a biohazard warning tell visitors to stay away. Yet two insects immediately draw the eye: the beetle Callipogon cinnamomeus and the centipede Scolopendra subspinipes piceoflava.

The scale makes the insects appear two to three times larger than the golf cart. The golf flag, fencing, dried vegetation and aura quartz give the scene the feel of a post-apocalyptic world. The handmade miniature scene is presented beneath a glass dome.

About the insects

Callipogon cinnamomeus is a beetle in the longhorn beetle family. Longhorn beetles are often recognised by their long antennae. This species originates from South America.

Scolopendra subspinipes piceoflava is a centipede from Southeast Asia. Centipedes in this genus are predators. Their first pair of legs is modified into venom claws, which they use to seize prey and deliver venom.
